As The Rumbling devastates everything in its path, the surviving scouts, along with their Marleyan and Azumabito allies, urgently pursue Eren, hoping to halt The Rumbling before the Wall Titans annihilate the rest of the world.
Eren Jaeger and the Wall Titans march toward the Marleyan city of Liberio, resulting in the destruction of most of its population, though a few manage to escape. Eren, aware since his first arrival in Marley that he would one day decimate this city, feels trapped by a fate he cannot alter, as acting otherwise would go against his nature. Despite this inevitability, he summons his friends into the Paths to inform them that no compromise is possible as long as their positions remain steadfast. The only option left is for them to fight.
Meanwhile, the surviving Scouts and Warriors successfully prepare the flying boat for departure in Odiha, though they’re delayed by Floch Forster’s interference. Hange Zoë bravely holds off the approaching Titans on her own, sacrificing herself to give the group more time and passing command to Armin Arlert. The group then catches up with Eren near Fort Salta, one of Marley’s last surviving strongholds. After a failed bombing attempt by the Marleyan military, the Scouts and Warriors leap from the flying boat onto the back of Eren’s Founding Titan.
