As Eren nears Fort Salta, the Alliance arrives to halt the Rumbling and save the world, leading to the epic conclusion of the series.
The Scouts and Warriors engage in combat atop Eren Jaeger’s Founding Titan, but Armin Arlert is captured by an earlier incarnation of the Nine Titans under the Founder’s control. As Armin is absorbed by Ymir and taken into the Paths, he persuades Zeke to aid their cause. This allows the spirits of their deceased friends’ Titans to switch allegiances, enabling them to decapitate Eren’s Founding Titan. A wriggling centipede-like creature emerges from Eren’s neck, attempting to reconnect with the head. In response, Armin transforms into the Colossal Titan to destroy it.
Eren then emerges in a new Founding Titan form, matching Armin’s Colossal Titan in size, leading to a fierce clash between the two. Meanwhile, their friends, who also possess Titan powers, struggle to fend off the centipede. Mikasa and Levi Ackermann, riding on Falco Grice’s Jaw Titan, aim to finish Eren off, though Mikasa battles persistent headaches. Levi creates an opening in Eren’s Titan’s mouth using a Thunder Spear, allowing Mikasa to enter. She locates Eren’s head and decapitates it, ending his life and fulfilling the future he envisioned with Ymir—where the power of the Titans vanishes and all Eldians become ordinary humans.
