Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment, the developer and publisher behind Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, have issued a stern warning to players exhibiting toxic behavior. The message is clear: disrespectful conduct will not be tolerated, especially when it might be directed at someone like Henry Cavill.
Henry Cavill, known for his roles in Superman and The Witcher, is a well-known Warhammer 40,000 enthusiast. Recently, he shared his enjoyment of Space Marine 2 on Instagram, praising the developers for their work on the game. Despite his enthusiasm, Cavill admitted he couldn’t complete the campaign solo on the hardest difficulty, Angel of Death.
In a humorous twist, Cavill covered his username with “nope” in a photo, suggesting that players might unknowingly encounter him in the game’s PvP mode. Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment used this as a basis for their warning, emphasizing that players should always be respectful, as they never know who they might be interacting with.
The official statement from the developers reads: “Be loyal to the cause, be respectful. It has been reported that some players were displaying hurtful behaviors or comments in-game. We do not tolerate that and will take action to prevent it. First and foremost, we kindly ask you to remain respectful, mature, and mannerly with your fellow Space Marines. You can never know how old the other players may be, how their day is going, how sensitive they may be… overall, you never know who your brothers and sisters are… It could even be 😏… you don’t want to insult Henry Cavill, brother, no you don’t.”
This warning aims to foster a positive gaming environment, though it remains to be seen whether it will deter toxic behavior or inadvertently encourage players who hope to encounter Cavill in-game.
In addition to addressing player behavior, Focus Entertainment announced new content for Space Marine 2. A new PvE Operations map set on the planet Kadaku will be released as part of Season 2 in October. Players will join the Space Marines in a mission to help the Cadian forces destroy Tyranid Capillary Towers, making the planet’s conquest as difficult as possible for the Tyranids.
Furthermore, a hotfix aimed at improving game stability and fixing crashes is expected soon. Future updates will include more quality-of-life improvements, additional customization options, and a free 4K texture pack for PC players. Saber Interactive also recently released patch 3.0, which introduced changes to the game’s ending and new cosmetics discovered through datamining.
Season 2 of Space Marine 2 will run until the end of 2024, featuring new content such as a new enemy, a harder difficulty level, and various other enhancements. The developers are committed to maintaining a high-quality gaming experience while addressing player concerns and feedback.
